ACCOMADATION TEESSIDE | Pipefitterclub

Finding decent accommodation when working away from home can be difficult. Through experience we know that staying in bad digs makes the whole thing of being away from family, friends, and loved ones even worse. Finishing a long shift, then dreading going back to a scruffy dirty room can be quite demoralizing. So what we have done at PC is research where to stay by checking websites like TripAdvisor, and finding out where Pipefitters have stayed and recommended.

We have researched things to do, where to eat, to the proximity to the local large sites.

Teesside Accomadation

Teesside has some of the largest petro-chemical sites in Europe. Wilton site is probably the largest and is situated in the east part of Teesside south of the river Tees. You can get to Wilton from the A66 and A174 dual carriage ways, which are both linked to the A19. The A19 is the spine of Teesside with easy links to Middlesbrough, Stockton on Tees, and Hartlepool.

If you were looking for accommodation near Wilton the closest town would be Redcar. Redcar is a small Seaside town packed with bed and breakfasts and small hotels and is approximately 7-10 minutes from either Wilton Gates. Redcar has also good rail links to the East coast main line via Middlesbrough and Darlington. Traditionally Redcar has been used by Pipefitters and contractors alike for generations as an ideal location if you are working at Wilton site.

Teesside Information

Teesside has some of the largest petrol-chemical sites in Europe. In the Northern part of Teesside you have the massive chemical complexes at Billingham, Seal Sands, and North Tees. All have easy road links again from the A19 to Middlesbrough, Stockton on Tees and Norton on Tees.

Hartlepool has also good links to Seal sands and North Tees with Seaton Carew on the coast being an old contractors favorite.

Middlesbrough is a vibrant town with lots of bars, cinemas and theatres in the town center..

Middlesbrough has good rail links to the East Coast Main Line, which is 20 minutes from Darlington on the main East coast line. Stockton has good also rail links to Darlington, and Hartlepool on the east coast which is 30 minutes to Newcastle.

Norton on Tees has also lots of good bars and isn't far from Billingham over the A19.
